Introduction: scale and global circulations
Cristina Grasseni
A chapter in Elgar Encyclopedia of Economic Anthropology, 2025, pp 135-136 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Anthropological considerations about economies of scale and global commodity-circulation vary greatly in focus and direction. They include how logistics, infrastructure and (new) technologies land on communities and planet, the discourse and practice of heritage value, and the work of future-making in ideational, normative and performative terms. This section's entries present ethnographically grounded approaches to the study of global value regimes in global markets.
