Chapter 17 in Food Security, 2023, pp 171-177 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: Scientific advancement is the key to increasing agricultural productivity. Promising avenues of scientific enquiry that have the potential to increase agricultural productivity are explored. The constraints on the acceptance of new technologies and new foods that arise from scientific advances are outlined. The impact of these constraints on the achievement of global food security goals is explained.
