Introduction: religious-spiritual intersections in organisations
.
Chapter 1 in Religious-Spiritual Diversity in Organisations, 2024, pp 1-22 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Introduction: religious-spiritual intersections in organisations, contrasts the pitfalls and possibilities of religious diversity in a global growth of religious affiliation while secularism in the West increases. Noting that religious imagination takes us to disturbing depths and soaring heights, we examined the roots of religious ritual, its latent expressions an ongoing effects in business and explained at least some of the difference between religion and spirituality while affirming their many shared characteristics. We encouraged the view that diversity is not so much a problem to be solved but a possibility to be celebrated and affirmed, affirming the need for management to be religiously educated and how to be better prepared for religious discussion in the workplace should the need for positive interaction be presented. This chapter also briefly presents information which can be expected in each of the chapters in this book.
