Organisational tensions and employment sophistication

.

Chapter 4 in Religious-Spiritual Diversity in Organisations, 2024, pp 61-82 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: Organisational tensions and employment sophistication, examines social innovations especially in the not for profit (NFP) and civil society groups that contribute massively to many countries’ GDP, and the many ways in which businesses can learn from the not for profit sector who recognised, decades into their work, that technology alone would not resolve endemic, chronic global issues. Recognising the significant crossover between not for profit and business, we also acknowledge the contribution of business to the NFP world in terms of financial sustainability. This chapter also notes how larger MNCs have integrated many learnings pertaining to religious diversity into their own development and organisational profitability while genuinely seeking the best forms of flourishing for their employees. We focus on how CEOs can imagine their workplace to fit on the wide spectrum of faith relating modalities in business and how, as operators in a business, they might develop more spiritual intelligence.
