Chapter 5 in Clusters in Times of Uncertainty, 2024, pp 86-101 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter explores talent acquisition challenges in Japan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem (EE) and job shifts from large enterprises to startups. Four gaps impede job shifts: employment forms, hiring process costs, job descriptions, and agency rewards. Focusing on the unique job shift trajectory within the EE, the research addresses bottlenecks from different perspectives. The implications emphasize the importance of policies that connect the talent market within the EE and outside, like partial engagement programs and agency subsidies.
