Strategy models

Chapter 4.58 in Elgar Encyclopedia of Strategy as Practice, 2025, pp 571-574 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Strategy models facilitate the formulation, evaluation, and implementation of organizations’ strategies. Since strategy models are a type of strategic tool, many of the insights we have about strategy models were discerned through research directed towards strategic tools more broadly. Three major themes from this work are listed in this entry, posed in the form of research questions that SAP scholars continue to investigate. Although SAP scholars have made strides in advancing understanding of strategy models, numerous avenues for future research remain.
