Alisdair MacPherson and
Caroline Sophie Rapatz
A chapter in Floating Charges in Comparative Perspective, 2025, pp 1-11 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This introduction reflects upon “floating” security, broadly defined, as a special form of security right that is a widespread phenomenon in jurisdictions around the world and in differing types of systems. Information is then provided regarding the large-scale comparative research project that has given rise to Floating Charges in Comparative Perspective. The aims of the project are identified, along with challenges encountered. The structure and content of the book are next outlined, with brief coverage of each of the book's chapters. Finally, there is a short note on terminology used in the book.
