Ashwin Yadhav Kumar and Konstantinos Nikolopoulos

Chapter 7 in Forecasting, Planning and Strategy in a Turbulent Era, 2025, pp 214-267 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: This chapter examines the practices of predicting the effects of supply chain disruptions on pharmaceutical production, foreseeing the demand for necessary drugs during pandemics, and organizing the introduction of novel pharmaceuticals during disruptive events. It emphasizes that, to ensure drug availability, predict demand during crises, and successfully launch new pharmaceuticals, the pharmaceuticals business must forecast and plan for disruption.
