Chapter 2 in Classroom Exercises for Entrepreneurship, 2025, pp 67-76 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Author James D. Hart articulates the critical nature of entrepreneurial “Action” and offers a wide array of entrepreneurial learning skills and experiential entrepreneurship exercises while addressing topics of communication, competition, capital, marketing, networking, pitching, plans, and strategy and teams. The experiential entrepreneurship exercises enhance students’ abilities in oral communication, strategic thinking, student team structuring and self-management, collaboration, and market analysis, among other topics. Each exercise includes detailed descriptions, learning outcomes, materials needed, time requirements, and tips for implementing experiential entrepreneurship exercises. Hart emphasizes the importance of a hands-on and experiential pedagogical model in teaching entrepreneurship. He offers students a way to navigate real-world scenarios through simulations, serious games, demonstrations, exercises, and projects. The entrepreneurial tools are offered to teach students practical application and critical thinking skills to develop as entrepreneurs.
