Chapter 12 in Corporate Governance and Culture in Financial Institutions, 2025, pp 340-349 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The final chapter attempts to look at the future, but − inevitably − in doing so, it also takes the reader back to the fundamentals of governance and culture and the often-forgotten concept of professionalism. Broadly speaking, we foresee a transformation in the narrow understanding of governance as risk management towards a broader umbrella concept of purposeful culture, which, in time, is likely to gain more concrete content as a result of regulatory expectations and societal pressures.
