Chapter 3 in Handbook on Post-Schumpeterian Innovations, 2025, pp 44-61 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The manufacturer innovation paradigm and the user manufacturer paradigm complement each other, and the integration of the two innovation paradigms has become possible. Users and manufacturers have unique advantages at different stages of innovation, and crossing the boundaries of innovation paradigms can maximize the efficiency of innovation and form a good innovation atmosphere. In this chapter, we will introduce user-manufacturer innovation from the aspects of U-M curve, the model of “Identify-Cultivation-Integration-Collaboration”, influencing factors, forms of interaction, ways to promote cooperation, and the value creation of innovation cooperation, and show the sparks that collide in user-manufacturer innovation interaction and cooperation.
