Wei Sun

Chapter 7 in Handbook on Post-Schumpeterian Innovations, 2025, pp 119-128 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: The Internet era is significantly impacting the survival and development of China's enterprises, particularly in manufacturing. Customization has become essential for meeting the personalized needs of a new generation of users. The global digital industrial revolution, driven by advanced manufacturing technologies, is pushing industries worldwide toward transformation. Large-scale personalized customization is emerging as a new mode of intelligent manufacturing, offering a competitive advantage for China's manufacturing industry and enabling enterprises to innovate beyond traditional production and marketing models. In this context, designing and implementing a user-centered intelligent manufacturing model to enhance user experience has become a key research focus in academia and business. Based on previous theoretical and practical achievements, a theoretical analysis framework for this model addresses the challenges traditional manufacturing enterprises face in the Internet economy, where user demands are often overlooked. The user-centered intelligent manufacturing model provides a new pathway for the transformation and upgrading of Chinese enterprises.
