Abstract:
This chapter introduces the scope and purpose of the edited book titled The Authoritative Research Guide to Expatriates. The chapter outlines the experience of the book editor and their research expertise in the field of expatriates and global mobility. The chapter provides the rationale for the structure of the book, which comprises 14 chapters, and explains the prescribed structure of the chapters and the review process. The chapter also outlines limitations of the book's contents and areas for future research. Finally, the chapter highlights the diversity of the contributors whom, as well as being expatriate scholars, comprise a balance of men and women, and whom, although based only at universities in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, have collectively vast experience of living, working, and researching internationally.
