Chapter 8 in Research Companion to Innovation in Construction, 2025, pp 153-176 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
In this chapter, the framework presented in Chapter 7, “A Conceptual Framework to Understand the Implementation of Innovation on Construction Projects”, has been tested using case study data on a concept innovation of the first group housing project in a developing country. The constructs and propositions in the conceptual framework have been analyzed in detail with the data on the entire sequence of innovation, from its conception to full implementation. During the process of testing, it was found that the stated propositions are generally supported; however, a few of them had to be modified, which helped to produce a more accurate and empirically sound conceptual framework. An important part of the research is the insights gained from the analysis of each of the propositions, and they are reported in the conclusions section of this chapter.
