Revealed and stated preference

Abstract: The understanding of individual preferences in transport literature usually uses disaggregate data. These data are usually categorised into two groups: stated or revealed preference data. In this entry, the general advantages and disadvantages of both are discussed, along with the contribution of each in different contexts.
