Abstract:
Developing economies face the persistent challenge of achieving sustainable and liveable urban environments amid rapid urbanisation, rising pollution, and infrastructure limitations. In such a context, the wider shift towards public transport, the adoption of electric vehicles, and active mobility options is critical in achieving sustainable urban living. Achieving sustainable urban transport demands a holistic approach to urban planning, integrating transportation, land use, and infrastructure. A combination of policy support, strategic infrastructure investments, and community engagement is essential for achieving these goals. Developing cities have the potential to adopt innovative and sustainable travel practices to set new benchmarks in urban sustainability.
