Aviation climate change impacts and adaptation
Rachel Burbidge
A chapter in Elgar Encyclopedia of Transport and Society, 2025, pp 62-63 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Climate change effects such as higher temperatures, stronger storms and rising sea levels will impact the global aviation sector. It is essential that aviation organisations such as airports, airlines and air navigation service providers carry out climate change risk assessments to identify the effects they might face and implement adaptation measures to reduce the potential impacts.
