Abstract: To move forward and meet growing transportation demands and customer expectations in the future, railways need to adopt digital solutions and technologies. Therefore, the digital railway is the top priority for the rail sector and its way into the future. With the digitalisation of the rail sector, highly efficient and attractive transport options can be offered to customers. This entry provides an overview of the key areas of the digital railway, the technologies that can be used in these areas, and the expected results of their combination to achieve the goals of the digital railways.
