Introduction: The present and future of social judgment research

Justin F. Landy

Chapter 1 in Research Handbook on Social Judgment, 2026, pp 1-11 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: In this chapter, I introduce the Research Handbook on Social Judgment. I start by introducing the scope of the book, defining social judgment, and describing the book's structure. I then briefly summarize each chapter and offer my thoughts on how the chapters in each section of the book relate to each other and the broader themes that emerge. I close by predicting several directions that I think the field will (and should) take in the coming years.
