A tale of two surveys: reaching respondents using Web questionnaires

Mark N.K. Saunders

Chapter 10 in How to Keep Your Research Project on Track, 2024, pp 71-78 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: In this chapter I outline two realities of gaining physical access when undertaking large, multi-organisation survey research using Web questionnaires. Following a brief consideration of the research context, I offer two tales of reaching respondents using Web questionnaires. The first uses a compiled list of potential respondents from an online database company, and the second uses a volunteer panel accessed through a panel company. I conclude with lessons for keeping your research on track.
