Chapter 100 in Elgar Encyclopedia of Historical Organisation Studies, 2026, pp 363-364 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: This entry is about one of the bedrock schools of thought in management history, the Louisiana State University (LSU) school of management history. The basis of this school is the intellectual leadership of Arthur Bedeian and the seminar on management thought that he taught for nearly 30 years. In the process, Bedeian and his students have produced a tremendous amount of scholarship that touches on nearly every topic in traditional management history, but also some that veers into more critical management history.
