Abstract: Sporting Traditions welcomes scholarly academic paper submissions and publishes book reviews, book review essays and letters to the editor that generally focus on providing historical research regarding sport and sporting activity. Further, Sporting Traditions aims to publish research that uses economic, political, sociocultural, legal and philosophical foundations. The journal offers opportunities not only for publication on Australian sport practices, products and services with a historical focus but also for papers and reviews focused on other societies and contemporary sport. More specifically, Sporting Traditions has a strong reputation for producing excellent scholarship that features study of sport, sporting leagues, local and national governments and economic conditions and organizations. Further, Sporting Traditions respects a broad array of methodological approaches and epistemologies in addition to respecting the use of theory to study sport histories.
