Abstract:
This entry is about Arthur G. Bedeian, a long-time professor at Louisiana State University and one of the founders of the management history field. This entry will provide some basic biographical information and then it will discuss his important and substantial role in shaping management history. We will focus on the following: his scholarship in management history, his sponsorship of graduate students and his work on the seminal textbook, The Evolution of Management Thought. In conclusion, we will show how his ongoing importance and relevance to the field through his doctoral seminar and his work on the Evolution of Management Thought textbook, will continue his influence long into the future.
