Abstract: Digging up the past is a popular pastime in the study of corporate irresponsibility (synonyms include wrongdoing, misconduct and deviance). Some scholars choose the lens of collective memory (Mena et al. 2016), whilst others take a historical approach (Smith et al. 2022). Still others combine these two lenses (Rowlinson et al. 2010).
