Abstract: Feminist critical historiography is an approach that transcends the binary characterisations of women versus men and the private versus the public spheres of home and work. It aims to effect meaningful change by illuminating power, privilege, inequalities and dominance. This approach combines the linguistic turn, the state of and the domination of the Other, with theoretical and praxis implications and applications. It seeks to unsettle the status quo by investigating discourses, power, privilege, identities, etc., connecting women and transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) individuals from the past to the present and future, providing a pathway to addressing social justice.
