Abstract: Amodernism is a theoretical position developed by Bruno Latour that offers a relational, practice-based alternative to both modern commitments to realism and universal truths and to postmodern relativism and detachment. Key pillars of amodernism include the emphasis on relations as the foundation of reality, multiplicity, folding temporality, and the researcher's role as a composer. In historical organisation studies, amodernism is mainly associated with Durepos and Mills’ ANTi-History, a critical approach that focuses on tracing how historical accounts come into being through heterogeneous networks of human and nonhuman actors, challenging universalist narratives and opening space for alternative ways of engaging the past.
