Abstract: The term ‘Industrial Revolution’ is usually associated with the industrialization process that began in the United Kingdom in the latter eighteenth century. Industrialization occurred in many countries in subsequent decades. The Industrial Revolution transformed British society and brought changes to working life, urban and rural communities and the overall size and power of capital and the state. It was also a process that was intertwined with the expansion of the British Empire.
