Lasse Baaner
Chapter 13 in Research Handbook on EU Water Law, 2026, pp 234-248 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter first describes the management cycle and its relationship to the core documents: the Programme of Measures and the River Basin Management Plan. It then covers the regulation of national permitting schemes and the required combined approach to environmental permitting. Last, it examines the close link between the environmental objectives established during the river basin management planning and the granting of environmental permits that are likely to affect water.
