Abstract:
Exploring the ways that fans consume and participate in modern sports culture, this chapter reflects the shifting practices that have resulted from technological shifts. Examining material sports culture, from those material objects to more contemporary e-sports and virtual inscriptions of sports culture, this chapter reveals the many ways we consume and engage with sports culture through objects. It reflects not only on fandom and how our relationships with sports are maintained through specific objects but also on how our individual and collective identities emanate from those items.
