Agnieszka Gehringer

Chapter 14 in Handbook of Climate Change and Financial Markets, 2026, pp 268-291 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: There is a broad consensus over the need to transform the current production systems towards carbon-neutral, resource-efficient and climate-resilient settings. This chapter aims to provide an overview of key aspects regarding the financing of the green transition. It first delves into the corporate strategies to engage in green investing. Subsequently, it discusses the role of the financial sector in incentivizing investment in the green transition. Finally, it scrutinizes the public policy options and their various effects in redirecting financial resources towards projects aimed at climate protection.
