Abstract: This chapter presents a full empirical approach to CBD for testing cultural bias in choice. This entails three steps: (i) augmenting the choice model with the fully quantified cultural component; (ii) controlling for nonlinearities (the Aristotelian Kuznets curve); and (iii) testing for the aggregate Platonian cultural relativity of the local ethos as opposed to generalisable morality. The chapter finishes with a systematic comparison between the described CBD paradigmatic approach and the key existing alternative paradigms.
