Knowledge innovation and scientific knowledge in KIE firms
Albert N. Link
Chapter 3 in Creating Scientific Knowledge, 2026, pp 37-55 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The relationship between public and private innovation, quantified in terms of external agreements and external network relationships, and the creation of scientific knowledge, is explored in Chapter 3. Resulting scientific knowledge is quantified in terms of the commercialization of new or significantly improved goods or services, and its relationship to external knowledge innovation is documented in a correlative manner. Findings are first presented at the aggregate ten-country European level and then on a country-by-country basis.
