Chapter 7 in The Elgar Companion to International Business and the Sustainable Development Goals, 2026, pp 150-173 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Due to its complexity, International Business (IB) is a discipline that has been studied for several years. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an initiative proposed by the 2030 Agenda to solve major global problems. Likewise, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technological tool that can solve problems and achieve objectives. Therefore, this chapter aims to establish a relationship between IB, the SDGs, and AI. For this purpose, various IB topics were identified in the literature and according to their goals and meaning, a table was prepared to be able to visualize which area of IB can have the most impact on the SDGs, as well as their relationship with various categories of AI identified in the literature. Likewise, a model where the three interact is presented and explained (Golden Triangle).
