Abstract: “Article 4: Prohibition of slavery and forced labour” concerns the prohibition of slavery and servitude, the prohibition of forced labour as well as permissible limitations, such as work in detention, service of a military character, service during an emergency or calamity, and civic obligations. The chapter further summarises the growing case-law concerning trafficking of human beings.
