Abstract: Rapid urbanisation and environmental changes pose significant challenges in developing countries, prompting the need for sustainable, safe and smart construction projects. Stakeholder management is crucial for aligning diverse interests and achieving the successful implementation of these projects. This chapter examines construction stakeholder management in developing countries through the lenses of green construction, zero emissions, health and safety, and smart cities. It first highlights the importance of stakeholder management in green construction, addressing challenges and considering strategies for effective implementation. Then it evaluates stakeholder collaboration to meet zero-emission targets in the construction industry. Next, it explores the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in construction health and safety, proposing methods to address conflicts and build consensus. Finally, it identifies key stakeholders in smart city projects and assesses their contributions. It concludes that effective stakeholder management can foster tailored solutions to key challenges, supporting sustainable and inclusive development in developing countries, and proposes a research agenda.
