Conclusion: paradise regained
Sam Mulopulos ()
Chapter 11 in Achieving Supply Chain Resilience, 2025, pp 204-208 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter concludes the book. It draws upon lessons from China's restriction of rare earth elements exports in 2010 to explain how policymakers have, so far, taken insufficient approaches to supply chain resilience. It discusses the historical parallels to the present moment, namely, the late 1940s, which saw a spurt of creative policymaking in response to unique geopolitical challenges. Today's policymakers should be empowered to respond to supply chain vulnerabilities with similar creativity and vigor.
