Juval Portugali

A chapter in The Second Urban Revolution, 2025, pp 1-24 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: This introductory chapter explains the title and subtitles of this book and the relations between, and roles of, its various components. Namely, what is meant by the first and second urban revolutions, the view from the Israeli-Palestinian periphery, and the notions of complexity and cognition which in fact introduce the theoretical basis for the discussions that follow in the main body of the book.
