Chapter 3 in Causal Knowledge Analytics, 2025, pp 19-29 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The revolution of digital transformation and business analytics, driven by information systems, has fundamentally changed businesses, boosting productivity, innovation, and agility. Few companies can survive without embracing this transition. However, such a profound transformation has not impacted academia. Despite the availability of technologies, the current approach to accessing scholarly knowledge remains predominantly focused on searching digitized text. Analytical capabilities provided by current information systems are limited. Consequently, scholars need to manually scroll through text to access knowledge. This practice greatly restrains the growth of scholarly productivity. To address this issue, this chapter introduces a standard for digitizing scholarly knowledge and presents a tool, Codasaurus, to support this process.
