Chapter 5 in Causal Knowledge Analytics, 2025, pp 50-57 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter introduces a five-level analysis framework to guide causal knowledge analysis. The Element level focuses on the building blocks of theories (concepts, constructs, and events). The Element-Relationship level explores relationships and their positions in causal model networks. At the Model level, the analysis focuses on causal model similarity and facilitating rigorous causal reasoning through DAG theory. The Theory level examines the impact of theories on a knowledge network. The Theme level evaluates knowledge convergence and fragmentation within thematic domains, offering a field-level synthesis. A five-level analysis is facilitated by an app, Analysaurus.
