Abstract: China's economic growth has achieved a historic take-off since the reform and opening up, and science and technology have undergone a development path from introduction, digestion, absorption, and re-innovation to independent innovation. Currently, China's economy has transitioned from a high-speed growth stage to a high-quality development stage. This chapter systematically explores the complex relationship between scientific and technological innovation and China's high-quality economic development, scientifically measures the level of high-quality economic development among Chinese provinces from 2012 to 2023, and then analyzes the driving mechanism of scientific and technological innovation on China's high-quality economic development. The research findings are as follows: the positive spillover effect of technological innovation on the high-quality development of China's economy has been strengthened through the medium factor of industrial agglomeration. This indicates that industrial development and technological innovation can jointly form the driving force for promoting high-quality economic growth.
