Abstract: This chapter examines the technology life cycle (TLC) within developing economies, emphasizing their distinct progression through prolonged introduction, extended growth, and delayed decline stages. These deviations from traditional models arise due to infrastructural deficits, regulatory inefficiencies, and financial constraints. The chapter analyzes the socio-economic structure of developing countries, key drivers and barriers to innovation, and the role of globalization, foreign direct investment, and technology transfer. Special attention is given to the contributions of start-ups, innovation hubs, and public–private partnerships in accelerating technological adoption. Case studies in mobile technology, fintech, digital agriculture, and telemedicine illustrate real-world TLC trajectories. Strategic policy recommendations are provided for each stage of the TLC, aiming to strengthen innovation ecosystems, enhance digital infrastructure, and promote inclusive growth. The chapter offers actionable insights for policymakers and development practitioners seeking to foster sustainable technological advancement and economic transformation in emerging markets.
