Bent Greve
Chapter 8 in Concise Introduction to Financing Welfare States, 2026, pp 95-99 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter sums up a number of issues from the book with a focus on what is important with regard to financing public sector spending in developed countries now and in the years to come. This includes a list of elements countries should be aware of when deciding how to structure their financial system, including possible strengths and weaknesses hereby. It is further argued that it is important to have a balance in the public sector economy, even if not every year, then in such a way that in times of crises the state will be able to help and support activities in order to reduce the impact of the crises on people as much as possible.
