Chapter 15 in How to Build Resilience in College Students, 2026, pp 148-152 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Resilience is a process of coping and adaptation. Professionals working in higher education can activate existing protective factors and cultivate new ones when working with college students to facilitate the adaptation process. In this guide to building resilience in college students, we defined the 10 most relevant protective factors when working with students pursuing postsecondary education. In this final chapter, we will answer questions that commonly come up as we conduct workshops that help professionals apply these important concepts across many roles, including those working for colleges and universities.
