Abstract:
Crystal Legacy is Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Melbourne in Australia. In this chapter, Crystal responds to a number of research-related questions, grouped under a total of 11 themes: (1) motivation; (2) research ideas and execution; (3) collaboration; (4) funding; (5) supervision; (6) publication; (7) reviewing and editing,;(8) conferences and seminars; (9) communication and research impact; (10) time management; and (11) reflections and the future of transport research. Among other aspects, Crystal reflects on her passion for environmental justice, having a daily writing practise, and the importance of peer mentorship and community building in academia.
