Abstract: Greg Marsden is Professor of Transport Governance at the Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. In this chapter, Greg responds to a number of research-related questions, grouped under a total of 11 themes: (1) motivation; (2) research ideas and execution; (3) collaboration; (4) funding; (5) supervision; (6) publication; (7) reviewing and editing; (8) conferences and seminars; (9) communication and research impact; (10) time management; and (11) reflections and the future of transport research. Among other aspects, Greg reflects on the benefits of working with researchers from other disciplines, the importance of building up a track record as an early-career researcher, and various climate-related challenges facing the transport field.
