Abstract:
Professor Emerita Corinne Mulley was the inaugural Chair of Public Transport at the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) at the University of Sydney in Australia. In this chapter, Corinne responds to a number of research-related questions, grouped under a total of 11 themes: (1) motivation; (2) research ideas and execution; (3) collaboration; (4) funding; (5) supervision; (6) publication; (7) reviewing and editing; (8) conferences and seminars; (9) communication and research impact; (10) time management; and (11) reflections and the future of transport research. Among other aspects, Corinne reflects on her move from the United Kingdom to Australia, her motivations for providing an evidence based for transport policy, and the challenges involved in securing research funding.
