Chapter 1 in Reforming EU Public Procurement, 2026, pp 1-10 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter considers the reform process of Directive 2014/24/EU by discussing the reasons why it is currently being reformed, including the Court of Auditors report, the Letta and Draghi report. It contextualizes those reasons and highlights the need for a full reform of this Directive based on the insights of this book, rather than a marginal reform of this important piece of legislation for public procurement in the European Union.
