Chapter 6 in Constructive Intercultural Management, 2026, pp 98-120 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
In this chapter, we focus on intercultural leadership, which is essential for organizations that wish to perform in international contexts. According to the intercultural three-step model, we present the cultural specifics of leadership before analysing comparative leadership and discussing the constructive implementation of intercultural leadership. Global leadership is strongly shaped by cultural characteristics and the transformations of the VUCA world. Agile leadership in a networked society is becoming more important. To implement intercultural leadership constructively, it is necessary to attach particular attention to personnel selection, intercultural leadership development, organizational structures and organizational culture.
