Abstract:
This chapter focuses on India's role as a major global vaccine producer, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. It examines the challenges faced in scaling up production during the crisis and the importance of state intervention in public health innovation. The chapter discusses the lessons learned from this experience and how India can better position itself to respond to future public health challenges through robust frameworks for collaboration and innovation in health-focused high-technology sectors.
