Abstract: This concluding analysis integrates the book's theoretical arguments and empirical findings, showing that urban resilience emerges from the interaction of institutions, spatial dynamics and learning processes. Using Barcelona and Singapore as contrasting contexts, it demonstrates the multiple pathways through which cities foster resilience and argues that governance principles must be interpreted within their specific environments. The discussion highlights the contribution of the Public–Private–People (3P) nexus and the relational definition of resilience developed in this work. It also identifies key implications for urban policy, underscoring the importance of trust, cooperation and adaptive governance. Framing resilience as an ongoing civic and institutional practice, this final part points to future research directions and encourages cities to treat uncertainty as a driver of reflection, innovation and shared responsibility.
